Joining the Cavalry

The unit welcomes new members who are physically fit, confident and competent riders who will make the investment in time and money to create first class impressions. Male and female re-enactors are welcome but we ask female members to disguise their feminity where appropriate.

Horse owner riders welcome, for those who do not own a horse, we hire in experienced re-enacting horse.

For those interested in joining the cavalry you will be invited to one of our events or one of our training weekends and be given a short riding test to make sure that you can walk, trot and canter in a safe and controlled manner. Please note we do not teach people to ride.

For ACWS Cavalry and 11th Hussars you will need to become a member of

The ACWS and for Cobhams you need to be a member of Lace Wars

for insurance purposes.
